KOCHI: There is no CBI probe in the attack on ED officials who came for a search in the house of opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan in the monthly payoff case. The high court, assessing that the police investigation is in the right direction, disposed of the public interest litigation.

Advocate Jojo Jose filed a plea seeking a CBI probe into the attack on ED officials. The petitioner argued that there was a big conspiracy behind the attack and that the truth would not come out if the police investigated. However, the police informed the court that 25 people had been arrested in the attack on the officials and that the investigation was progressing. The police requested the high court to reject the demand for a CBI probe.

The police informed the court that the investigation was going in the right direction. The police also informed that they had not received any prior notice about the ED search. The police report states that there was no lapse in security arrangements and there was no intelligence lapse. The petition was disposed of after recording this report.
