Move to take Rahul Gandhi into custody, scuffle breaks out between police and activists, tensions in Delhi

NEW DELHI: A clash broke out in Delhi during a march by INDIA bloc MPs demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. There was a scuffle between the police and protesters.


The police stopped the march in front of Akashvani Bhavan as the protesters were proceeding from Parliament towards the Election Commission headquarters. Following this, the leaders staged a sit-in on the road in protest.


Reports say that Rahul Gandhi may be taken into custody.

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav also participated in the march led by opposition leader Rahul Gandhi. The police have been directed not to use excessive force.
Rahul had earlier said that it had been established that Gyanesh had amended Form 6 in an illegal and unilateral manner.
