NEW DELHI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has given voters excluded from the electoral rolls following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) another opportunity to get their names included in the list in six states and one Union Territory.
The Commission has directed the Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of Maharashtra, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana and Nagaland, as well as Delhi, to provide another opportunity to excluded voters to fill out and submit enumeration forms.
The move aims to help voters whose names were removed from the electoral rolls for various reasons, despite their enumeration forms having been received.
As part of the exercise, booth-wise lists of excluded voters will be displayed again at polling stations and local self-government institutions. The lists will also be made available in PDF format on the respective websites.
The Election Commission has clarified that voters can use their previous Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) numbers while submitting the enumeration forms again.
