Weather may change further; cyclonic circulation formed over West Bengal and Bay of Bengal 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A cyclonic circulation is located over Gangetic West Bengal and Bangladesh. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that the cyclonic circulation is likely to intensify into a low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and northwest Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours.

Another cyclonic circulation is also located over the southeast Bay of Bengal. Due to these reasons the IMD has warned of the possibility of heavy rain in Kerala from August 7 to 11. The IMD has also warned that strong winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kmph and at times 60 kmph and bad weather are likely along the Kerala and Lakshadweep coasts on August 7 and 8.

The National Oceanographic Research Centre has informed that there is a possibility of sea erosion due to waves of 1.1 to 1.3 meters high on the coasts of Alappuzha (from Chellanam to Azhikkal Jetty) till 05.30 pm on August 7. There is also a possibility of sea erosion due to waves of 1.4 to 1.6 meters high on the coasts of Kanyakumari till 11.30 pm on August 7 as part of the black sea phenomenon.
