
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that rain will continue in the state for five more days. An orange alert has been issued in Kannur and Kasaragod today. Isolated places in these districts are likely to receive 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm of rain in 24 hours, so have alerted the people. It has also been notified that precautionary measures have to be taken as thunderstorms are likely to occur along with the rain.
A yellow alert has been issued in various districts till July 5. A yellow alert has been issued in Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad today and tomorrow in Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunderstorms in isolated places in these districts. Heavy rain is defined as rain falling between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm in 24 hours.
