THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Public Service Commission (PSC) has admitted a mistake in giving the picture of a murder case accused in the bulletin. The picture of Aakash Thillankeri, accused in Shuhaib murder case and former CPM activist, was wrongly published in the bulletin. The serious mistake was noticed in the note on the last page of the bulletin published by PSC on May 15.
In the description of the 49th Kerala Film Critics’ Awards, the PSC had given Aakash Thillankeri's picture instead of Rajesh Thillankeri, who won the award for best screenplay. Rajesh received the award for writing the screenplay of the film 'A Pregnant Widow' directed by Unni K R. Meantime, PSC did not provide a clear explanation as to how the mistake occurred.
The Thalassery Additional Sessions Court had cancelled the bail of 17 including Akash Thillankeri in the Mattannur Shuhaib murder case. They were also ordered to be remanded. The trial in the case began on May 18 after an eight-year legal battle. Shuhaib was hacked to death by a group of assailants after throwing a bomb at him while he was drinking tea at a roadside eatery shop on February 12, 2018.
