THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Gold prices recorded a slight increase in Kerala on Tuesday after falling steadily in recent days. The price of 22-carat gold rose by Rs 30 per gram to Rs 14,040, while the price of one sovereign increased by Rs 240 to Rs 1,12,320.

The price had fallen sharply on Monday. By evening, the price of one sovereign had dropped by around Rs 1,080 from the morning rate, settling at Rs 1,12,080. The slight rise today comes after a continuous decline in gold prices.

Changes in international gold prices are reflected in the Kerala market. Selling pressure in the global gold market strengthened amid concerns that various central banks could move towards raising interest rates in response to persistent inflationary pressures.

In the international market, gold prices fell by $72 per ounce on Monday to $4,275.

Silver price

Silver prices also declined in Kerala. The market price of silver is Rs 245 per gram today, while 10 grams is priced at Rs 2,450.
