'Confidential information leaked, probe likely into KMRL officials'; Ernakulam Collector orders investigation

KOCHI: Ernakulam District Collector G Priyanka confirmed that crucial documents of Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) were leaked. The Collector noted that much of the leaked information is confidential in nature and that full details would only be available through an investigation. Documents being photocopied were also being forwarded to an additional email address.

The Collector stated that the investigation was initiated based on several complaints received. A decision was made to conduct a cyber-investigation into the incident. The probe will also examine whether any KMRL officials were behind the incident. The extent of the damage caused by the leak can only be determined once the investigation is complete. The Collector added that strict action would be taken if the culprits are identified.
