KOCHI: The family of Jayabalakrishnan, who lost his life in the Cheranalloor Benz accident, said that they have not received justice. The family was responding to the media soon after the Kerala High Court stayed the arrest of the district judge, second accused and father of the 17-year-old, the main accused in the case.
‘We respect the court's order. We will consult with our lawyer for the next course of action. We have not received justice so far. We have decided to move forward legally. We will not take even a single step back; our decision is to move forward,’ said Jayabalakrishnan’s daughter Bhadra Keerthy. She had earlier told Kerala Kaumudi that they would fight until both the judge and his son are punished in the case.
The high court stayed the arrest of the judge Thursday morning. A bench headed by Justice Kauser Edappagath clarified that there is no need for an arrest if the judge is cooperating with the investigation. Stating that it cannot succumb to public perception, the court directed the investigation team not to arrest the judge until further orders are issued in the case. The court also asked that since the petitioner is a judicial officer, he is unlikely to abscond from the investigation.
