Girl hires quotation gang for rejecting love, 17-year-old brutally beaten by classmates

ALAPPUZHA: A complaint has been filed alleging that a female student hired a quotation gang to attack her classmate for rejecting love. The incident happened in Haripad, the constituency of the home minister. The victim is a plus one student at the Haripad Boys Higher Secondary School. The complaint said that he was brutally beaten by his classmates.

The incident happened on October 15. The girl of plus one had a crush on the teenager, but he had rejected her love. The family of the injured student alleged that the girl, provoked by this, gave a quotation to a 19-year-old of Pallippad who is studying in Chengannur ITI.

More than 15 students locked the 17-year-old boy inside a classroom and brutally assaulted him at the direction of the 19-year-old. The injured student was undergoing treatment at the medical college for five days following the assault.

The students involved in the assault were suspended by the school authorities for a month. Based on the 17-year-old boy’s statement, Haripad police registered a case and launched an investigation. Police said that since all the accused students are below 18 years of age, a report containing their details has been submitted to the Juvenile Justice Board.
