Wild elephant creates panic as it charges towards crowd in Athirappilly, many injured

THRISSUR: A wild elephant created panic as it charged towards a crowd in Athirappilly Vanchikadavu. Many sustained injuries when they ran seeing the elephant. The incident happened last night at Vanchikadavu in Athirappilly. The elephant charged towards the crowd when they came to attend a function in Madhu’s house.

People on the road scattered after seeing the elephant. Two or three people sustained injuries in a fall while running. It is reported that their injuries are not serious. Madhu's son Mithun's bike was damaged in the elephant attack.

This is not the first time that a wild elephant has attacked the area. The locals are tense on the constant presence of the elephant. In the wake of increasing attacks, the locals are demanding strong action from the forest department.
