Two days after father's demise, toddler found dead in crib in Thrissur

THRISSUR: An 18-day-old toddler was found dead in its crib at Thrissur on Sunday. It is doubtful that the toddler died choking on breast milk. The baby was found motionless in the crib at around 4 am today in Kunnamkulam, Thrissur.

The toddler is the daughter of Sudheesh and Manuradha, natives of Vellarakada. Relatives say that the baby was bleeding from the nose and foaming at the mouth. Although she was immediately taken to the Kunnamkulam Taluk Hospital, her life could not be saved. The mother went to bed after feeding the baby at night. The baby's father, Sudheesh, had died two days ago.

Sudheesh died in a road accident on Friday. While returning home after work, Sudheesh's bike was hit by a lorry in Kunnamkulam. The Erumapetty police registered a case of unnatural death and started an investigation into the child's death. The child's body will be handed over to the relatives after the postmortem.
