Tamil Nadu bids farewell to K Bhagyaraj, last rites conducted with full state honours

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu bid farewell to actor and director K Bhagyaraj. The funeral was held with full state honours at the electric crematorium in Chennai. Hundreds of people turned up to pay their last respects during the mourning procession.

Meanwhile, Bhagyaraj's family fulfilled his last wish to donate his eyes after death. Bhagyaraj had registered to donate his eyes a few years ago. Despite the shock of the actor's unexpected demise, the family fulfilled his wish.

Bhagyaraj died in Chennai yesterday morning after suffering a heart attack, leaving the whole fraternity in shock. Popular Malayalam stars came to pay their last respects to the veteran director. Mammootty and Dileep, among others, had visited Bhagyaraj's residence in Chennai to pay their last respects. Bhagyaraj’s wife is actress Poornima Bhagyaraj. His children are actors Shantanu Bhagyaraj and Saranya Bhagyaraj.
