SHRUTHI AND SANDEEP

THRISSUR: Shruthi, whose family was wiped out in the Wayanad landslide disaster, got married on Saturday. The wedding took place this morning at the Guruvayur Temple. The groom, Sandeep—a native of Mananthavady—is an employee at the Wayanad Collectorate. Former Minister K Rajan stood in as a guardian for Shruthi during the wedding ceremony. Shruthi and Sandeep had previously become engaged in July 2026.

Sandeep remained with Shruthi despite knowing the hardships and emotional toil she went through following the disaster. After the wedding, Shruthi expressed her hope that they would be able to live a happy life. Sandeep also shared that they are stepping into a new life filled with happiness and expressed his gratitude to everyone.

Shruthi lost nine members of her own family in the Wayanad disaster. Subsequently, her fiancé also passed away in a road accident—an incident in which Shruthi herself sustained serious injuries. Later, the government provided Shruthi with a job.
