
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department forecast rain in Kerala over the next five days. Yellow alerts were issued for various districts including in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, and Ernakulam districts tomorrow.
Yellow alerts were also issued for Pathanamthitta, Idukki, and Malappuram districts the day after tomorrow (October 5), and for Idukki, Palakkad, and Wayanad districts on October 6. Isolated heavy rainfall is predicted. "Heavy rainfall" is defined as rainfall ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm within 24 hours.
The Indian Meteorological Department announced the possibility of rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds—with speeds reaching 30–40 kmph—in isolated areas of Kerala from today (03/10/2026) until the 6th. Rain accompanied by thunderstorms is also likely in isolated areas on the 7th.
