KOCHI: Lulu Group chairman M A Yusuff Ali has emerged as the richest individual Malayali in Forbes’ 2026 list of India’s 100 richest people. Seven Malayalis have made it to the list of India’s wealthiest individuals. Yusuff Ali, with a net worth of $5.75 billion (around Rs 55,200 crore), is ranked 47th nationally. Among Malayali families, the Muthoot family ranks first and is placed 24th nationally, with a net worth of $9.2 billion (around Rs 88,320 crore).
Joy Alukkas, with a net worth of $5.4 billion (around Rs 51,840 crore), is ranked 52nd nationally and third among Malayalis. RP Group chairman Ravi Pillai is ranked 71st nationally with a net worth of $4.1 billion (around Rs 39,360 crore).
GEMS Education chairman Sunny Varkey is ranked 75th with a net worth of $4 billion (around Rs 38,400 crore), while Sobha Group founder PNC Menon is ranked 79th with a net worth of $3.8 billion (around Rs 36,480 crore). Kalyan Jewellers managing director T S Kalyanaraman is ranked 87th with a net worth of $3.55 billion (around Rs 34,080 crore).
Gautam Adani and his family topped the national list with a net worth of $112.7 billion (around Rs 10.82 lakh crore). Mukesh Ambani ranked second with a net worth of $86.3 billion (around Rs 8.28 lakh crore). The Adani family’s wealth increased by $20.7 billion over the past year, while Ambani’s wealth declined by $18.7 billion. Savitri Jindal of the OP Jindal Group is the richest woman in India, with a net worth of $39.8 billion (around Rs 3.82 lakh crore). Steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal climbed to fourth place with a net worth of $34.7 billion (around Rs 3.33 lakh crore).
Forbes said the combined wealth of India’s 100 richest people remained above $1 trillion this year as well.
