'Onam bumper winner from Mokeri? Rs 30-crore ticket handed to Bank manager'

KANNUR: There is no dearth of rumours amidst the ongoing hunt for the Onam bumper winner of 2026. Numerous stories about the bumper lottery winner are circulating across the state.

Images of numerous AI-generated figures holding the first-prize-winning ticket are hereby circulating on social media. Some rumours suggest that the winner has already handed over the ticket to Manager Praveen Vattoli at the Vattoli branch of Canara Bank. In some other reports, the winner of the Onam bumper is Manu, a native of Mokeri in Kannur.

The first prize was won by a ticket sold by Sujith, a roadside vendor who had purchased the ticket from Muthu Agency in Chakkarakkal, Kannur, and sold it through Thampuran Agency in Taliparamba. So far, no one has come forward to claim the prize. Since the majority of the tickets were sold to locals, the agent believes the lucky winner to be someone from the Taliparamba region.
