
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first budget of the VD Satheesan government has brought some good news for the football lovers of the state. The finance minister announced that a world-class football stadium will be built in Malabar and that 'Mission 2036' will be implemented to nurture all sports players.
A stadium with modern facilities will be built in Kerala to identify and train football talents and organize international competitions. Rs 50 crore has been allocated in the budget for this. In addition, it has been announced that Rs 173.77 crore will be provided for the sports and youth sectors.
Steps will be taken to fully utilize the playing fields in college campuses. Satheesan said 'Mission 2036' will be implemented with the aim of nurturing sports stars who can compete in the 2036 Olympics.
