Employee dies after hand gets trapped in machine at RBI office in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One person died in an accident that happened at the branch of the Reserve Bank of India in Bakery Junction, Thiruvananthapuram. The dead is Ashok of Bengaluru. He died after his hand got trapped in the machine during work time. He was an officer of a company that has undertaken a contract for the RBI. Ashok arrived in Thiruvananthapuram recently.


The accident happened on Wednesday at 3 pm. A new machine was brought to the branch the other day and the accident happened while he was operating it. His hand got trapped in it. He had sustained serious injuries in the accident. He was admitted to a private hospital but died Thursday morning. He had lost a lot of blood and this is cited as the reason for his death. The museum police have taken further proceedings.


It is suspected that the accident occurred because the machine was operated carelessly. The police have started an investigation to find out how the accident happened.
