ALAPPUZHA: Former MLA and CPM leader H Salam stepped forward harshly criticizing Ambalappuzha MLA G Sudhakaran. Salam, who levelled serious financial allegations against Sudhakaran, challenged him via a Facebook post to disclose his assets and other financial details. He also asked whether Sudhakaran is ready to reveal the account of the lakhs collected during the assembly elections in 2021.

Salam also asked whether the money had been used to buy land and other properties, including in Paravur, in the names of his wife and son. He further questioned whether Sudhakaran, who presents himself as an anti-corruption crusader, was prepared to disclose the assets of his family as well as the details of his son’s NRI accounts.

Salam’s post

Do not become an axe that has lost both its mouth and handle…

I thought that I need not respond constantly to all the nonsense being uttered by Ambalappuzha MLA G Sudhakaran. He is now defaming people who work day and night for the party and those who worked for the LDF in Ambalappuzha as per the party’s decision. Earlier, he insulted women leaders who had served as people’s representatives. He has repeatedly made personal attacks against leaders such as Saji Cherian, C S Sujatha and C B Chandrababu. He went to library meetings and insulted Aliyar Makkiyil. He has now insulted advocate Anasali. Since this indecent behaviour is continuing, I am forced to say a few more things.

G Sudhakaran now has contempt for the party’s fundraising activities. Oh! When he was a party leader, he apparently worked using money brought from his own family rather than collecting funds from the people. Even when there was no food at home, ordinary workers such as branch secretaries and party members went from house to house collecting money. They handed over the funds properly to the party without even buying a glass of lemon juice from the money collected. For decades, you travelled and ate using the very funds collected by these ordinary workers. Most recently, during the last parliamentary election, you went to certain places to campaign, saying it was to help A M Arif win (though we all know whom you secretly wanted to win). You submitted an account of your expenses to the district committee office and received thousands of rupees as TA (the exact amount is not being mentioned). That money too came from funds collected from the public by ordinary comrades.
