Rs 50 lakh for gold, 30 lakh for silver; Malayali athletes could become millionaires if shone in Asian Games 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sports Minister O J Janeesh has announced a major cash reward for Malayali athletes who win medals in the Asian Games. Athletes who win gold medals will receive Rs 50 lakh, while silver medallists will be awarded Rs 30 lakh and bronze medallists Rs 20 lakh.

Coaches of the medal-winning athletes will also receive cash incentives. Coaches of gold medallists will get Rs 5 lakh, those of silver medallists Rs 3 lakh, and coaches of bronze medallists Rs 2 lakh.
