BENGALURU: In a disturbing incident, a young man stabbed his girlfriend to death after she rejected his marriage proposal. The incident took place at around 9:30 pm last night in Mahalaxmi Layout, Bengaluru. The victim was 23-year-old Anjali, who went to dinner with the accused but was not aware of his devious plan. Anjali's boyfriend, Rajeev, has been arrested in the incident.

Police say that Anjali and Rajeev have been in a relationship for the past four years. The two met at work. However, Anjali's parents were unhappy with Rajeev's background and opposed the marriage. Rajeev had been constantly trying to convince Anjali and her family, hoping that they would change their opinion.

Anjali had also recently tried to avoid Rajeev due to pressure from her family. Last night, Rajeev invited Anjali to have dinner at a place called Pipeline near Mahalaxmi Layout. Here, Rajeev brought back the topic of marriage, which was instantly rejected by Anjali, who walked away from the restaurant. Rajeev then followed Anjali and stabbed her in the neck.

The locals rushed the woman to the hospital, but her life could not be saved. The police, who arrived at the scene after receiving information, arrested the accused from a nearby location. The police said that he had confessed to the crime. Anjali's body was shifted to MS Ramaiah Hospital for postmortem. The police said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
