ALAPPUZHA: Two youths were killed in an accident while fleeing on a stolen bike. The incident happened Thursday morning at around 3 am at Kaichoondimukku in Alappuzha. The dead have been identified as 17-year-old Muhammad Sabeen of Adivaram in Mannanchery, and Rinshad. They had stolen the bike of Pramod of Ambanakulangara in Mannanchery.

Three youths, travelling from Mannanchery to Alappuzha on two bikes met with the accident. One who sustained serious injuries, has been admitted to Alappuzha Medical College Hospital. The accused had stolen the locked bike parked in front of Pramod’s house at night. They broke the lock and stole the bike. Pramod came to know that his bike had been stolen only around 4 am, when North Police contacted him after tracing the registered owner of the vehicle.

CCTV footage of the accident has also emerged. The bike which was at a high speed, was seen skidding and scraping along the road, sending sparks flying. There is also a suspicion that a dog may have suddenly crossed the road, causing the accident. Both youths died on the accident spot itself.
