Rain to continue across Kerala; yellow alert in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department said that rains will continue in the state for the coming days too. An orange alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts today and a yellow alert in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts today.

As there is a possibility of heavy rain in the northern districts tomorrow, a yellow alert has been issued in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts. The possibility of isolated heavy rain is predicted. Heavy rain means a situation where rain ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is received in 24 hours. Those living in areas prone to landslides are advised to move to safer places as per the instructions of the authorities.
