'Victim' is father of my child: Honey trap case accused Roshni Suresh releases 'wedding' photos

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A significant turn of events has emerged in the high-profile honey trap case involving a Hyderabad-based businessman, with the primary accused, 37-year-old Roshni Suresh, refuting the extortion allegations. Roshni, who was recently arrested by the Vanchiyoor police, has publicly claimed that the complainant, Mark Vijayakumar, is her business partner and the father of her child.

Roshni released a video statement asserting that the criminal complaint filed against her is a fabrication intended to dismantle her business and serve the financial interests of the complainant. To support her defence, she released several photographs, including images of her with the complainant and what she described as wedding photos. She further stated that the birth certificate of her child lists Vijayakumar as the father.

According to the accused, she had been taken into custody previously but was released after a magistrate found no substance in the initial complaint.

The original case against Roshni stems from a complaint filed by Vijayakumar’s wife directly to the Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner, Arul R.B. Krishna. Following this, the Vanchiyoor police arrested Roshni in Ernakulam. The First Information Report (FIR) alleges that the accused extorted ₹5 crore from the businessman by threatening to expose their relationship and the existence of a child born out of wedlock.

According to the police, the two met four years ago when Roshni was an employee at a German language learning center in Kochi, which they subsequently began co-owning. The complaint details that the accused utilised this relationship to coerce the businessman into transferring significant assets, including a flat in Thrippunithura valued at approximately ₹1.5 crore, 20 cents of land in Malayinkeezhu, along with gold ornaments and cash.
In addition to Roshni, the police have named Jibin, Unnimol Jibin, and Abhishek as suspects in the case.
