Gold price surges again; rises by Rs 640 per sovereign today, check rates

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The price of gold has increased in the state on Wednesday’s. The price of one gram of gold rose by Rs 80, while the price per sovereign increased by Rs 640, bringing today’s gold price to Rs 1,13,080 per sovereign. The price of one gram is Rs 14,135. The price of one gram of gold had increased by Rs 15 yesterday while the price per sovereign rose by Rs 120. However, by afternoon, the price per sovereign fell by Rs 1,040. Today’s increase follows that decline.

Movements in the international market are the main factors influencing gold prices in Kerala. Among the key factors supporting gold prices in the global market are continued uncertainty over conflicts in West Asia and fluctuations in the US dollar. At the same time, the possibility of higher interest rates continuing in the current international market is putting some pressure on the upward movement in gold prices.

There is no change in the price of silver. The present rate is Rs 255 per gram and Rs 2,550 per 10 grams.
