CHERTHALA: An eight-year-old white Labrador, who was too weak even to walk, underwent a complex four-hour surgery at the Cherthala Veterinary Clinic to remove a tumor found in her abdomen. The dog belongs to Krishnadas from Munduparambil, Mayithara in Cherthala.

The dog was not keeping well for quite some time and was even unable to walk. She was then taken to Dr Sangeeth Narayanan of the Government Veterinary Clinic. A scan conducted here revealed a lump as part of a mammary tumor. Then a team of doctors led by Dr Sangeeth, and including Dr Aswani Baburaj, Dr Shalini Wilkinson, and Dr S. Jayasree, performed the operation.

Even though the dog's present age is equivalent to 80 human years, the family went ahead with the surgery because of their immense love for their pet. Now, the dog is able to run around the house and eat properly.
