ADIMALI: The Adimali police have registered a case of unnatural death in connection with the death of the twin babies in Idukki. A sample of thinner was found on the hands of one of the children. The parents told police that the children had consumed thinner. Police said after post-mortem, the internal organs would be sent for scientific tests. The officials said the children’s parents would be questioned again.

One-year-old twins have been identified as Ihaan and Rihaan, children of Afsal and Sandra of Valiyakattil. The police had taken the babies’ father Afsal into custody earlier. The police had obtained information that there were family issues between the couple.

Police said there are inconsistencies in Afsal's statements and he keeps changing them. One of the children died at the Adimali Taluk Hospital and the other at a private hospital.
