CM expresses displeasure to DCP on excess security escort vehicles

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister V D Satheesan expressed his dissatisfaction to the DCP for increasing the number of escort vehicles for his security. He conveyed his displeasure when he came to attend a function in Kowdiar on the occasion of the international day of older people.

Usually, a pilot vehicle and an escort vehicle accompany the chief minister during his official trips. However, when he reached Kowdiar, an additional police jeep was in front of the pilot vehicle. The chief minister noticing this got out of his vehicle and conveyed his displeasure to the DCP.

The chief minister directed the DCP not to deploy additional vehicles in the name of security during his official journeys and not to unnecessarily increase the number of vehicles in his convoy.

Yuva Morcha activists staged black-flag protests and road-blocking demonstrations against the chief minister and ministers across the state. The police explained that the additional vehicle had been included to ensure the chief minister’s security in view of these protests.
