THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Ansiba Hassan has expressed strong skepticism over fellow actor Shwetha Menon’s claims that veteran superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal had urged her not to resign from her position within the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). Speaking to reporters, Ansiba stated that she does not believe Shwetha's claims and challenged the veteran actors to clarify the matter publicly if the statements are true.

Ansiba made these remarks while arriving at the Kadavanthra police station to record her statement concerning a complaint she had filed against actor Tini Tom. Taking the opportunity to address ongoing media speculation, she also cleared up a separate misunderstanding involving actor-director Ramesh Pisharody.

Clarifying her stance, Ansiba explained that Ramesh Pisharody was not the person who demanded a written apology from her. She noted that Pisharody had approached her solely to help mediate and resolve the internal disputes within the AMMA organisation. According to Ansiba, Pisharody was merely communicating the conditions laid down by the opposing party, who were the ones actually demanding the written apology. She attributed the widespread misunderstanding to her own omission of the word "they" during her previous interaction with the media.

The controversy erupted after Shwetha Menon shared a social media post claiming that Mammootty and Mohanlal had extended their support to her during the internal turmoil in the actors' body. Shwetha asserted that both veteran actors advised her against resigning, encouraging her instead to stand firm on her stance and continue the fight.
In her social media post, Shwetha expressed her gratitude to the superstars, thanking Mammootty and Mohanlal for standing by her side and advising her to fight on. She also extended her appreciation to all members of AMMA who supported her position and believed that the ongoing struggle was necessary.
