One succumbs to burns sustained in Vembayam bar attack

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One succumbed to burns sustained in the attack that happened at the Sreevalsam Bar in Vembayam. Reports say the dead is Navas, who slapped the accused Aneesh. Navas is a resident of Thekkada Karakode Ramanparambu Kuttathatty. He sustained serious burns and was undergoing treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical Hospital.

The incident occurred around 9:30 pm on Sunday. Navas slapped Aneesh while consuming liquor. Enraged over it, Aneesh left the bar, bought petrol, returned, and then set fire. A security guard who witnessed the incident said Aneesh ran out of the bar engulfed in flames. He sustained more than 80% burn injuries and remains in a critical condition. The other injured are undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram medical college hospital.
