SRIHARIKOTA: The first satellite launch of India's privately built rocket 'Vikram 1' was successful. It was launched at 12.05 pm today from the Satish Dhawan Rocket Launch Center in Sriharikota. Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace Company built the 'Vikram 1' rocket, which can carry satellites to Earth's orbit.
The name of the Vikram 1 mission is 'Aagaman'. The Vikram rocket carries small satellites like Graha Space, Cosmo Serv, Decubed, and Skyroot's own Scope satellite. Since it was the first launch of a private rocket, great precautions were taken.
The aviation, naval, and traffic control agencies issued airspace and navigation warnings. Restrictions were also imposed on the sea area where the rocket boosters may land. Restricted areas were declared during the launch, including along the rocket's trajectory, to ensure the safety of the public.
