YouTuber Chekuthan attacked for insulting Mohanlal and fans

KOCHI: YouTuber Aju Alex fondly known as Chekuthan has been attacked. He was attacked when he arrived at the hospital in Edappally. He was beaten up by a five-member group, accusing him of insulting Mohanlal and his fans. The police had arrested him in 2024 for his defamatory remarks against Mohanlal.

He was arrested then on the complaint of actor Siddique, who was then the general secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). His defamatory remark via his YouTube channel was against Mohanlal for visiting the site of the Wayanad landslide disaster in military uniform while holding the rank of Lt Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army. Aju Alex had sought mandate from Thiruvalla constituency as an independent candidate in the last assembly elections.
