Indian techie kills wife, sends body’s picture to lover in India

WASHINGTON: A 30-year-old Indian youth has been arrested for strangling his wife to death in the USA. The youth identified as Avinash Narne, a software development engineer, was arrested by the Bellevue police.

His wife, Raajitha Sabbineni (27) was found dead in her apartment on October 27, 2025. Avinash himself called the police saying that his wife was locked in the bathroom and that he is not able to open the door. When the police arrived and forced open the door, they found Raajitha lying dead on the floor.

During initial interrogation, Avinash reiterated that his wife was locked in the bathroom when he returned. However, there was no evidence of anyone else entering the house when he was away. The postmortem report termed her death as a homicide and that she died from asphyxia due to strangulation.

Shocking information came to light during a detailed investigation. The police have found that Avinash had a secret relationship with a woman in India for years. It was during this relationship he married Raajitha on June 5, 2025. The investigation revealed that his girlfriend also attended the wedding ceremony. The two continued their relationship even after his marriage. Avinash had called his girlfriend at least four times on the day of the crime. The investigation found that he had sent a picture of his wife's body to his girlfriend.

The messages that Raajitha had sent to Avinash several times were also evidence in the case. She had complained that the drinks prepared by Avinash often tasted bitter. The police also found that Raajitha had sent messages to Avinash saying that the smoothie made on the day of her death tasted like medicine and cough syrup. If convicted of murder, Avinash will face life imprisonment, said the authorities said.
