'I am Indian. My father is Indian'; Day out for ice cream turns four-year-old girl super viral across India

ITANAGAR: A four-year-old girl from Arunachal Pradesh is now the talk of town after her adorable request won India’s heart. Tinkle Karga Gongo, while speaking to news agency ANI, said: “Don’t call us Chinese. Call us Indians. It makes me angry”. The appeal went viral in no time while many Indians fawned over the dainty Itanagar beauty.

It all started when Tinkle's mother, Aiyum Karde, took her daughter out to buy her ice creams. After paying the money, Tinkle told her friends about the good time she had. That is when someone looked at her and made a comment, “Even these Chinese are talking in Hindi”.

Tinkle couldn’t comprehend the comment, and it was Aiyum who told her daughter what it really meant. Tinkle immediately shouted, “I am Indian. My father is Indian”. The four-year-old also expressed a wish to record a video to take pride in her Indian identity.

Aiyum took the video as per her daughter’s wish, and in no time, it went viral. Even Tinkle’s father came to know about the incident through social media. The family is now inundated with praise and phone calls from across the nation.

Tinkle’s father said he was proud of what his daughter did and requested people from mainland India not to ridicule the Northeast people based on their looks.

'We certainly don’t want China. We belong to India,” Tinkle’s father added. Meanwhile, a new video of Tinkle singing the Indian national anthem is going viral on social media.

China considers Arunachal a vital part and calls it "South Tibet" (Zangnan) and rejects the 1914 McMahon Line, while India considers the northeastern state an inalienable part of the country.
