THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Minister Suresh Gopi dismissed the fake news against him. He responded with a sarcastic Facebook post, rejecting what he described as fake news. Some media reports had claimed that Suresh Gopi had approached the BJP central leadership seeking to relieve him from the responsibilities in the Union Cabinet. His response was against this.

‘Suresh Gopi has expressed his willingness to resign. Did you know that? Apparently, I was the only one who didn't know! Just one click is enough to know the truth. So, no one should waste time believing such movie-like stories. To those who create fake news--this is not right. It is time to change.’

The reports said Suresh Gopi met senior leaders, including Amit Shah, requesting to relieve him from the ministry. The news cited that his ministerial berth is averting him from acting in films, leading to a decrease in his income. The reports said this comes amid a cabinet reshuffle taking place this month.

However, Suresh Gopi's Facebook post makes it clear that there is no truth to these claims. He serves as a Minister of State handling responsibilities in two departments under the union government.
