THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan has called the police action to remove an AI-generated dance video featuring him from social media unfair. Speaking at an event, Satheesan said the video, which showed him dancing alongside people in KSEB uniforms, was removed on the grounds that it violated India’s current IT laws. The video can still be viewed in other countries.

“Two youngsters from Thrissur created my dance video using AI. I danced like Tamil actor Vijay in it. It was a beautiful video. Many youngsters told me it was a good video and that I danced even better than Vijay,” Satheesan said. “But the police removed it. I was not happy about it at all. I used to watch that video every night before going to sleep. What a beautiful dance it was. But these policemen removed it. I told them it was not right,” he said.

The video had gone viral amid a wave of memes and troll videos targeting the State government over power restrictions. It featured Satheesan dancing to Ala Bolelo, a song from Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2.

The AI video was created by Thrissur native Abhijith along with his friend Akhil, who is based in Dubai.
