Assaulted 10-year-old girl at shop; POCSO case accused hacked in Vadakara

VADAKARA: A POCSO case accused, now on bail, was attacked and hacked by a person on Tuesday. The victim is Nassar, a native of Mayyannur in Vadakara, Kozhikode. He sustained deep wounds on various parts of his body, including his neck and arms. Indications suggest that the attack was carried out by a relative of the minor girl allegedly assaulted by Nassar.

Nassar, first admitted to the Vadakara District Hospital, was shifted to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for specialised treatment due to the severity of his injuries. A complaint was filed alleging that Nassar—who runs a shop attached to his house—molested a 10-year-old girl on the third of this month when she came to the shop. Nassar was subsequently remanded in custody in connection with the case and had recently been released on bail.
