Mohanlal, daughter Vismaya face cyberattacks after her support for NEET protest

Actor Mohanlal’s daughter and actress Vismaya Mohanlal had the other day came to the fore expressing support for students protest staged in Delhi against the irregularities in the NEET examination. Her Instagram story ended with ‘My question to all of you is simple: Do you genuinely believe this is how a democracy.

Her post drew praise from many social media users who supported the student movement, while others strongly criticised her. The controversy soon spilled over to Mohanlal's Facebook page, where he had posted a congratulatory message for Spain following the World Cup. The comments section was flooded with criticism directed at both the actor and his daughter.

Among the comments were: Tell your daughter to learn some sense first, where was she when Hindus were allegedly shot after being asked their religion? Didn't she have a voice then? and She never reacted to issues in Kerala, but now wants to comment on the central government. Others questioned her public profile, claiming she was speaking out only because she is Mohanlal's daughter.
