Major reshuffle in police top brass; Ajeetha Begum assigned new responsibilities

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has brought in changes in the responsibilities of senior officers in the state crime branch. IG Ajeetha Begum has been given the additional responsibility of investigating economic crimes in addition to her existing charges. Reports say that Ajeetha Begum will now be in charge of the Kozhikode region of the crime branch. It has also been decided to give the charge of the South-Central region of the crime branch to IG Shyam Sundar. The responsibility of supervising the further investigation of the Sukumara Kurup case has also been handed over to IG Shyam Sundar. This step is part of making the activities of the crime branch more efficient.
