KANNUR: CPM leader E P Jayarajan has sent legal notices to his nephew, E P Shyamjith and Reporter TV over allegations related to investments in Vaidekam Resort. The notices sent has demanded that they withdraw the allegations, issue an apology and pay compensation of Rs 50 lakh each.

The issue of receiving money from Sashidharan Kartha had pushed the CPM into a major political and financial crisis. It was at this juncture that fresh allegations surfaced against E P Jayarajan's family and the resort. His nephew Shyamjith, son of Jayarajan's sister, raised the allegations via a Facebook post. The main allegation in the post was that Rs 9 crore from Kartha had been invested in Vaidekam Resort. Although Shyamjith later deleted the post, he repeated the same allegations before the media.

E P Jayarajan decided to pursue legal action in the backdrop of Shyamjith repeatedly raising these allegations. A notice was also sent to Reporter TV for airing the allegations as an exclusive report.
