Cop injured after being stabbed with syringe during night patrol 

KOZHIKODE: A police officer was attacked during night patrolling in Kozhikode. The incident happened at Mananchira Square Saturday night. Reports say the attackers stabbed the police officer with a syringe and needle, causing injuries. The officer injured is attached to the Kozhikode Town Police Station. He sought medical treatment at a hospital following the attack. Police suspect that a drug gang was behind the assault. A search is underway to trace the accused.
