Difference of opinion with minister; CH Nagaraju removed as Transport Commissioner

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: C. H. Nagaraju was removed from the post of Transport Commissioner following differences of opinion with Transport Minister C.P. John. Nagaraju was transferred from the Motor Vehicles Department to the Intelligence wing. Tensions between the Transport Minister's office and the Commissioner arose over various issues, ranging from payments to Keltron—the agency that installed AI cameras—to disciplinary actions against officials.

Sparjan Kumar, formerly the Inspector General (IG) of the Southern Zone, is the new Transport Commissioner. R. Nishanthini has been appointed as the IG of the Southern Zone and will thus move from her law-and-order role in the Intelligence wing.
