Shocking double murder in Idukki; son hacks father and mother to death

IDUKKI: A horrific double murder has shocked Idukki, where a son allegedly hacked his own parents to death. The victims have been identified as Antony, also known as Appachan, and his wife Valsamma, natives of Ezhukumvayal, Nedumkandam. Their son, Ajeesh, has been taken into police custody in connection with the killings. Police said he is addicted to drugs.

After the brutal murders, the accused reportedly called a friend and revealed what had happened. The friend then informed the parish priest, following which locals rushed to the house.

Upon receiving information, a police team from Nedumkandam reached the spot and overpowered Ajeesh, who was behaving violently. During a search inside the house, the couple was found with severe hack injuries. The accused had also suffered injuries to his hand.

The motive behind the shocking killings remains unclear. Police said Ajeesh will be questioned after he receives medical treatment. Further action will be taken after the forensic team and other officials examine the house on Saturday morning.
