Female accused abused victim the most in Kalamassery gangrape case, major conspiracy, say police

KOCHI: Police suspect a well-planned conspiracy behind the incident in Kalamassery where a woman was held captive for two days and gangraped. The victim was called to the spa in a vehicle arranged by the accused after making sure that her partner had left to drive a taxi. The police also found that she was given a new pair of dress to return home after gangraping her.

According to the survivor’s statement, the female accused abused her the most. The second accused, the female and the fourth accused are absconding. Police have intensified search for them. The victim is still undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The incident happened on October 2nd and 3rd. The woman came to the spa after seeing an advertisement on OLX for a manager’s post. She was given alcohol and drugs before being held captive and sexually abused her for two days.

Kalamassery police arrested Sreeraj (30) of Irikkavu and Jith Martin (27) of Thevaykkal, in the case. One of the accused is in charge of four spas functioning in Kochi. Police conducted an inspection at the spa in Pathadippalam where the woman was called for the job interview and collected CCTV footages.

Police suspect that the accused may have recorded videos of the abuse. One of the accused, Sreeraj, was earlier arrested in a drug case.
