Implosion in CJP? Huge backlash over luxury 'resignation party' inside five-star hotel

NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)’s resignation party held at a five-star hotel in the national capital raised a few eyebrows. Popular names who joined hands with CJP over the NEET protest came out to confront the CJP leadership over their lack of responsibility. The tensions worsened after a report emerged that the youngsters who attended the protest were in dire straits, unable to get back home, while reports alleged that a few volunteers and their family members were detained by police.

The rumour said CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was unreachable on the phone while other top names of the party were busy throwing a party at a five-star hotel.

In the video that surfaced on Monday, CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das was seen shaking a leg to a Bollywood dance number with other members in what was claimed to be a resignation party of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Senior Supreme Court advocate and BJP Rajya Sabha MP Mahesh Jethmalani raised doubts over the financial backup CJP was receiving, giving them access to posh Delhi hotels after creating a ruckus in the national capital.

Meanwhile, Meghnad, an early collaborator of CJP and a journalist, lambasted the leadership for leaving the volunteers to fend for themselves.

“While you were partying, more than 70 students were left starving in Delhi because you chose not to care. Congratulations CJP, for becoming yet another political party after all.” Wrote Meghnad on social media.

Saurav Das’ response:

“We can organise while dancing and while sipping coffee too. We can fight for change without looking the way previous generations think a movement should look. The uncles and aunties can keep complaining. They will just have to deal with us.”
