Actress Radha files Rs 46 crore cheque fraud complaint against sister and actress Ambika

CHENNAI: Actress Radha has filed a financial fraud complaint against her sister and actress Ambika. The complaint was filed at the office of the Chennai City Police Commissioner. Radha filed the complaint against her sister Ambika and brother Mallikarjun Kunchan Nair.

Radha alleged in her complaint that Rs 46 crore was embezzled using five cheques. She alleged that signed cheques kept at her home for business purposes were taken without her permission. According to the complaint, a total of Rs 46 crores was defrauded using five cheques ranging from Rs 11 lakhs to 27 lakhs.

Radha said the transactions were done through IDBI Bank’s current account operated under the name ‘ARS Garden Studio’ for her business purposes. She stated that while she was travelling, she had kept a few signed blank cheques in a room to cover expenses such as employees’ salaries, utility bills, taxes and garden maintenance.

In January 2025, the business name was changed to ‘RR Gardens’. After getting a new cheque book, she stopped using the old one and later did not notice what had happened to it. Radha said she came to know about the alleged misuse only after receiving a message from the bank on September 17 informing her that five of the old cheques had been presented for payment in Ambika’s name.
