KYIV: The Ukraine army has said that more than 1000 Russian soldiers have been killed. However, the Russian army has not yet revealed about the number of casualties. The United Nations (UN) has informed that 25 civilians were killed and 102 injured in the Russian invasion. Unofficial reports suggest that the real death toll would be more.

Meantime, Ukraine President Volodmyr Zelenskyy has released a video from his official residence, stating that he will not surrender. “Don’t believe the fakes. I’m here. We will not lay down any weapons. We will defend our state, because our weapons are our truth. And our truth is that this is our land, our country, our children. We will defend it all. Glory to Ukraine”, he said rejecting the rumours of surrender.

80 Russian tanks, 516 armoured combat vehicles, seven helicopters, 10 aircraft, 20 cruise missiles have been destroyed, claimed Ukraine. The Russian defense ministry has said that their troops have destroyed 211 military infrastructure in Ukraine.

Russia has claimed to have taken control of the strategic Antonov airport in Hostomel outside Kyiv. More paratroopers have landed there. Ukraine has confirmed that they have attacked Russian warships, Panama’s cargo ships and a Moldovan-flagged chemical tanker, near Odessa.

Russia has been launching airstrikes, missiles and artillery strikes in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv, which has a population of 30 lakhs. Numerous explosions were heard in Obolonska. Heavy fighting is going on in highways, apartments and in midway streets. Russia has captured western coast of Dnieper river. More than 40 cruise, ballistic missiles were fired into the city on Friday. Russian armoured combat vehicles are moving through the city’s streets.

Russian missiles have intercepted a Ukraine Sukhoi Su-27 war plane. There are also reports suggesting that Ukraine has reclaimed the Hostomel airport which was under the control of Russian paratroopers. Yet, the city is in the verge of being captured by the Russian forces, any moment. The people of Kyiv are in a mass exodus.
