Censor board asks to remove 'Bharatha' from 'Oru Bharatha Sarkar Ulpannam', movie to release with changed title

KOCHI: After an order from the censor board, the makers has taken out Bharatha from the title of 'Oru Bharatha Sarkar Ulpannam', directed by TV Ranjith under the banner of Bhavani Productions. Distributors Subhish Subhi and Satheesh of Planet Pictures said that after the film will be released under the name 'Oru Sarkar Ulpannam'.

The censor board, which did not propose editing in the film, took the stand that it would issue a certificate only if the name was changed. The shooting started after the name of the film was registered with the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce a year and a half ago. They said that the censor certificate was given in the name of 'Oru Bharatha Sarkar Ulpannam'. "As long as there is no problem with the content of the film, there is no basis for the action on the name Bharatha. Films with the word Bharatham have been released in the past too," the makers said.
