KOZHIKODE: A construction worker met with a tragic end after getting trapped inside an under-construction waste tank in Muttoli, Kozhikode. The deceased has been identified as Siraj. Another man who entered the tank to rescue him was pulled out alive but is said to be in critical condition.

The incident occurred inside a waste tank measuring around eight feet in length and diameter. The only way into the tank was through a narrow opening measuring just two feet wide. According to reports, Siraj entered the tank to retrieve construction materials left inside. While inside the tank, he reportedly experienced difficulty breathing and became trapped. Seeing him in distress, Viswanathan, who works at a nearby private establishment, climbed into the tank in an attempt to rescue him. However, he too became trapped inside.

Rescue teams managed to pull both men out after nearly 30 minutes. Although they were rushed to a nearby hospital, Siraj could not be saved. Viswanathan remains in critical condition.
